| Saying something nice when you actually think the opposite, is called lying.
Saying something nice when you don't really mean it, is called sucking up.
So, what do you call it when someone says something nice, and really means it, but then does things that would indicate otherwise?
It's basically making false promises. People let people down so often (themselves included), it's kind of scary. It caused me to essentially lose all faith in humanity last year. |
